Fitness Friday – Check-in – Week 4

by Destini on May 24, 2013

Happy Friday everyone!

First off I want to say one GIANT Happy Birthday to my best friend and amazing husband! George I am truly lucky everyday to have you in my life. You make me giggle like a school girl and truly make me a better person. Love you!!!

He likes to do Grumpy Cats Face 🙂

In Canada, Monday was a holiday and I did all my prepping for the week on that day. What did I do on my usually Sunday prep day? I recouped from Georges birthday celebrations(we celebrated last week). I may have had a glass or two of wine….anyways, I won’t pretend to you guys that I worked out on Monday, because that would be a lie. I took Monday off and instead of using Wednesday this week as my rest day, I did the missed cardio session. Now to say I haven’t been a little extra sore this week would be an understatement. But I am committed to this and didn’t want to let myself down. The best part about all this is that I am SOOOOO grateful I didn’t. I’ve been noticing some HUGE differences this week. I have lost another couple inches from my entire body. But that isn’t what is the difference, it’s the firmness. George has also noticed it too! This girl is getting strong again!!

My pink kettlebells arrived this week, they make working out fun! I know such a girl right? LOL

Okay, I know the new Revolt Fitness Uprising is just around the corner(June 3rd) and like I said yesterday, I want a TEAM of Healthy Wife readers to join in! I will even do the detox week with you all! Let’s make each other accountable. Best support team. Since I believe SOO much in this program, I have decided to give one lucky winner a YEAR membership to the program. That is a $50 value. But because we are running out of time till the next uprising, this has to happen NOW!

This is open to CANADA & USA. It will end one week from TODAY Friday May 31st.

 a Rafflecopter giveaway

Also, please don’t forget about the MASSIVE giveaway!! WOW soo many giveaways 🙂

Well I am off to the grocery store. Need to get all the supplies for some very special dinners.

I want this membership because I lack motivation BIG time. I have time these days and need to take advantage of being back on flat land and in our own place to do something with it.

I think this would be great for when I go back to work since I’m not sure how I will make it to the gym with work and a baby.

Is there much equipment needed? That would be the only downfall since I don’t have any weights or anything.

Destini May 25, 2013 at 9:19 am

Very minimal equipment. Yoga mat, free weights(I use 5lb,8lb & just purchased 10lbs)

optional – kettlebell & exercise ball.

Anytime she used the kettlebells before I purchased my own, I just used a free weight. I have increased my weights over time. Same with the exercise ball, till I filled mine up. She also recommends measuring tape and body fat caliper(though I don’t have these). I found a really good fitness wholesale website in CANADA called that I have ordered some of this equipement. But like I said, very minimal.

Revolt compared to Bodyrock? Better? Worse? the same?

Destini May 27, 2013 at 8:58 am

This is actually a really good question, and I feel I should almost do a post on this instead of just in a comment. I believe bodyrock has actually changed over to The DailyHiit now, so I will refer to it as that below

That being said, some of the big differences are
Revolt Fitness – Has a subscription, $10 monthly, $27 3-month access and $50 for a yearly subscription
DailyHiit – Free

Revolt Fitness – requires basic equipment(free weights, yoga mat, optional – kettlebells, exercise ball
DailyHiit – requires equipment that I feel is specialized equipment, that is quite a bit costly if you get it all. The equalizers they use often are $114, sandbag ranges $52-99, ugi ball is $129+

Revolt Fitness – has a designed diet plan, that changes weekly and every 6 weeks you get a new plan. So always changing food.
DailyHiit – Nothing that has been really designed, I know they talk about it on the community, but it is not in as great detail.

Revolt Fitness – Has a great community, and its private to only members, so members feel open to posting progress photos. Also Nichole Huntsmans(the create and trainer) is also VERY involved in it. She responds to comments and keeps people motivated (HUGE plus)
DailyHiit – HUGE community, open to anyone. They creators are involved, but I have seen questions go unanswered for a very long time, however other more experienced members with the program seem to help here.

That’s just a quick summary, I actually think I will do a post on this just go in more detail. Both are great programs. I do feel they offer different things, but both have the same message.
Hope this helps

Thanks babe

I enjoy DailyHiit (formally known as BodyRock) but find that the workout equipment is hard to come by and can be very discouraging for the lack of budget/non credit card holder folks.

i’m sure all the other questions that are reeling in my head will be answered in your new blog post. *wink

Happy to inspire a post

Just discovered this Revolt fitness program, and am very curious about it. People seem to really love it.
