Phew! What a weekend & Revolt-Week 6 Check-In

by Destini on June 10, 2013

My weekend was a wonderful sweaty one! Spent a lot of time at the gym and keeping up with my Revolt Fitness program. Sunday which is usually a rest day for me was spent with the hubby doing his leg day. WOWZER!! It was really the first time we ever did a workout together, I must say it won’t be the last. We just pushed each other more! <3

Here is my weekend via Instagram 🙂

The leg workout we did on Sunday consisted of this:

Each exercise was 3 sets of 12

5min warm-up on the treadmill, brisk walk at 3.5

  • Squats with barbell – 20lbs + weight of the bar
  • Leg Press – 80lbs
  • Calf Raises – machine weight
  • Seated Leg Curl – 75lbs
  • Walking Lunges – 2 x 10lb dumbbell
  • Seated Leg Extension – 60lbs
  • Deadlifts with barbell – 20lbs
  • Leg raises – body weight

Finished with 20min cardio on the stair master…it was a doozy 😀

June’s Uprising for Revolt Fitness has incorporated Tabatas. For those of you not familiar with Tabata’s they are pretty much High-intensity interval training (HIIT). Nichole has it designed that we will do 6 different exercises in total, each exercise is split into circuits of two. We will do one exercise for 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off and repeat 8 times. It’s pretty intense. It is really important to find your own pace to do these, if you watch Nichole and want to keep up with her, it can be quite difficult. The goal is to do as many as you can do within the full 20 seconds. I finished last week strong, even though I missed Friday’s upper body workout for my corporate golf tournament event. Honestly, swinging golf clubs is a pretty decent workout. This week I will be sticking pretty close to the Revolt Fitness workouts. I am still feeling quite happy with the program, I am officially half way through and can’t wait to complete the next six weeks!

If any of you are interested in joining in this fitness journey or have any questions..LET ME KNOW! I would be happy to answer them for you, or if I don’t know, find them out for you. ALRIGHT, I am zonked. I think some much needed time with my book is required.

Have a wonderful Monday!!

I’m so lucky to have my boyfriend do the Revolt program with me. Some days I have to push him, some days he has to push me. Overall, it’s so nice to have someone else there doing it with you. 🙂

I absolutely love it! Best purchase I could have done for my fitness routines. I now actively follow when I am in “the zone” and at my peak in my fitness routine. Plus it nerds working out for me HA :). But I seriously recommend it to anyone who is serious about fitness.

Side note: If you break the stalks of the broccoli but keep the elastic on, you save a few cents per KG 🙂

I buy these at Superstore and it isn’t per lb. It’s per bunch.
